3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking

Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Kampala (Uganda’s capital) or a shorter transfer if you’re coming from Kigali, Rwanda. The road trip offers breathtaking views of Uganda’s countryside, with rolling hills, tea plantations, and rural villages along the way.

• If coming from Kampala (8-10 hours drive): You’ll pass through towns like Mbarara and Kabale, stopping for lunch and photo opportunities at the Uganda Equator crossing.

• If coming from Kigali (4-5 hours drive): You’ll cross the Gatuna/Katuna border and enjoy a smoother ride through Rwanda’s well-maintained roads.

Upon reaching Bwindi, you’ll check into your lodge, which ranges from luxury eco-lodges to mid-range and budget accommodations. Some top lodges include:

Bwindi has four main trekking sectors:

1. Buhoma (Easiest terrain)

2. Ruhija (Higher altitude, cooler climate)

3. Rushaga (Largest number of gorilla families)

4. Nkuringo (Most challenging but rewarding treks)

Each group is assigned a gorilla family (8 people max per group). The trek can last 1-6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location.
