Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

The 4-day safari begins with your arrival at Entebbe International Airport or your hotel in Kampala. You will be picked up by your safari guide and begin the journey to. The park is about 5-7 hours' drive from Entebbe, depending on traffic and road conditions. As you travel, you will pass through picturesque Ugandan countryside, scenic villages, and a variety of landscapes.

Upon arrival in Murchison Falls, you will check in at your lodge and enjoy some leisure time. Most lodges are located along the Nile River, offering spectacular views and a tranquil atmosphere, ideal for unwinding after the long journey.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise

After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for breakfast and rest before setting off for a boat cruise along the Nile River. The boat ride will take you past large pods of hippos, crocodiles basking on the riverbanks, and a wide array of water birds. Your boat will also take you to the base of Murchison Falls, where you can enjoy a closer view of the falls as they crash down the narrow gorge. The mist rising from the waterfall creates a cool, refreshing breeze as you watch this spectacular display of nature’s power.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Visit to the Top of the Falls

Start the day early with a second game drive in a different part of the park. This gives you the opportunity to discover more of Murchison Falls’ varied landscapes and further enhance your wildlife sightings. Depending on the season and time of year, you might come across different animals or witness unique behaviors, such as predators hunting or herds of elephants bathing in waterholes.

After the game drive, your guide will take you to the top of Murchison Falls. The top is where the Nile River’s calm waters suddenly narrow and tumble over a series of rocks into the gorge below. The waterfall creates a stunning visual spectacle as the water crashes down, sending mist into the air. The view from the top of the falls is awe-inspiring and provides great photo opportunities. Your guide will explain the history and significance of the falls while you enjoy this scenic spot.

If you’re interested in additional activities, this is also a good time to visit the nearby Budongo Forest for optional chimpanzee tracking or explore the nearby local villages for a cultural experience.

Day 4: Departure

On the final day of your safari, enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departing for your return journey to Entebbe or Kampala. Depending on your flight time, you may have an opportunity for a final short game drive as you leave the park, providing one last chance to spot wildlife before heading to the airport.
