Day 2: Morning and Evening Game Drives
Wake up early for a morning game drive in
Narus Valley, one of the best locations for wildlife viewing in Kidepo. Narus Valley has a permanent water source, attracting large concentrations of wildlife, including:
- Lions and Leopards – Often found resting on rocky outcrops.
- Elephants and Buffaloes – Moving in large herds across the valley.
- Giraffes, Zebras, and Antelopes – Roaming the open plains.
- Cheetahs and Hyenas – Occasionally spotted in the savannah grasslands.
After an eventful morning, return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation. Later in the afternoon, embark on another game drive, this time exploring
Kidepo Valley and the
Kanangorok Hot Springs, located near the South Sudan border. The area is known for its dry riverbeds, palm trees, and unique wildlife, including
ostriches. Capture the beauty of the sunset before returning to the lodge.

Day 3: Cultural Experience with the Karamojong Community
Today, immerse yourself in the fascinating culture of the
Karamojong people, one of Uganda’s indigenous pastoral communities known for their rich traditions, colorful attire, and nomadic lifestyle. Visit a
Manyatta (traditional homestead) and experience:
- Traditional dances and songs
- Cattle herding and warrior traditions
- Unique Karamojong crafts and souvenirs
Enjoy storytelling sessions as the elders narrate their history, beliefs, and connection to nature. In the afternoon, return to the park for a guided nature walk, allowing you to appreciate Kidepo’s untouched beauty, birdlife, and breathtaking landscapes.

Day 4: Departure to Kampala or Entebbe
After an early breakfast, check out and begin your journey back to Kampala by
road or air.
By Road:
- Depart Kidepo in the morning with en-route stopovers for lunch.
- Pass through Kitgum, Gulu, and Luweero before arriving in Kampala in the evening.
